About the route:

It is recommended to start this route from Upninkai stop on Šventosios st. while getting to know the area. After going down the mountain, travel along ventoji River up to Saleninkai village – J. Vareikis homeland. Stop by the house where J. Vareikis established a school. Back to Upninkai – go back independently.

Route length– around 26 km, duration 1,5 hours. Recommended to travel by car.

Guide serviceIf the tour‘s date and time are arranged in advance – there is a possibility to hire a tour guide. 1-hour price: for adult – 2 euros, children, pensioners, disabled people – 1 euro.

Group consists of 15-20 people.

Available tour extrasIt is possible to go from Saleninkai to the confluence of Šventoji and Neris rivers, which is 3 km away. From there you can see not only an incredible nature scenery but also gigantic LC “Achema” on the other side of the river.
On the way back you can rest and camp in Metelis riverbank rest area. You can visit Dagilionys and Vareikiai burial mounds.

This distance can also be ridden by bicycles.

For people who want a long route – we suggest driving by car from Saleninkai along the river Neris through Vanagiškis, Padaigos, and Arnotiškės villages to Lietava river outfall (around 9 km from Saleninkai village).
