About route:

It is proposed to start this route in the central square of Panoteriai town and go to the homestead of P. Vaiciunas birthplace in Piliakalniai village, visiting Piliakalniai village and to go back again, getting acquainted with the history of the Notera stream and the connection with the name of the town, further visiting the objects of the route: Panoteriai school, the Vaiciunai family’s eternal resting place in Panoteriai cemetery. The route ends with a meeting with the fosterers of P. Vaiciunas’ memory, the organizers of the republican village amateur theatre gathering and members of the ethnographic ensemble “Vosilkeliai”.

Route length– The length of the route is about 8.3 km, the duration is 2.5-3 hours in case hiking or walking with Nordic sticks. This route can also be overcome by bicycles, duration – 1.5 hours.

Guide serviceA guide service can be booked by arranging the date and time of the tour in advance. 1 p.m. price of the guide service: 2 euros for an adult, 1 euro for a child, a senior and a person with a disability. The group consists of 15 people. After the trip, all participants are invited to drink tea made on a campfire and take a walk on the barefoot trail.

When riding bicycles or cars, it is possible to additionally visit Siesikai manor (8 km from P. Vaičiūnas homestead), Užugiris (12 km from Siesikai manor), Taujėnai manor (16 km from Užugiris.)
