The mighty oak trees on the right bank of the River Neris in front of the village of Gegužinė, which date back more than 300-400 years in Lithuanian history. As the old people used to tell us, they were the camp of Napoleon’s army retreating from Moscow after its defeat. The old road from Vilnius to Kaunas used to pass through these oaks.
